The Houston Oilers History

The Houston Oilers were founded bu Bum Philips in 1960. They were an OK team in the 60's, and were a GREAT team in the 70's.

Though, they were upset 2 times in the 70's in the AFC Championships to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 1987, the Oilers drafted quarterback Warren Moon. But, they were upset AGAIN by the Steelers in the in the Divisional round of the 1989 AFC Playoffs. Then, in 1996, they moved to Tennessee, and in 1999, changed their name to The Titans. The Oilers were no more.
